Handmade with a little bit of ink and a whole lot of love
Each illustration is a designed, carved, and printed by hand using artist-grade linoleum blocks. Once a design is transferred and re-drawn onto the linoleum block, Bettina uses basic carving tools (mostly a fine u and a fine v) to carve the design. The areas left behind will print as black and the areas carved away will print as white. Once the block is inked up, a piece of paper is pressed onto the block using either a printing press or a spoon. The prints are then hung up to dry.

Hand-printed illustrations published from the book are available for sale at pop-up events around town. Come visit the A2Z table and pick your favorite!
